As millennials start to push baby boomers off
the workforce, companies need to give the word "success" a complete new meaning.
Motivating baby boomers was quite easy: "talking big" and bonuses were the name
of the game. Now, this generation is
looking for true meaning in life.
Many millennials take a holistic approach to success at work:
they want to understand the purpose, not just "do as you are told" . Even
provide impacts that exceed beyond hitting bottom line numbers.
By
2025, millennials will make up 75% of the workforce. They are considered to be the generation that jumps around every two years at most.
Thus, companies will keep them longer if they feel like they are contributing to their holistic
success and their sense of purpose.
Otherwise, they will
jump away the second a better offer comes around that enables them to achieve their vision
of success.
